The Neighbourhood


Pinelands is a 'Garden City' with gracious thatched/period properties & large trees, wide roads and generous gardens.    We have a popular Italian restaurant around the corner and a local shopping centre within walking distance.  


Our house, built in 1942, is in a tranquil street, with the Oval Sportfields behind the house.  A perfect location for holiday makers, solo travellers, business and educational trips to Cape Town.  The two cottages are on either side & adjacent to the main house, with their own entrances and common access to the swimming pool. 


We have free, secure onsite parking, free wifi, good security, a beautiful landscaped garden and a sparkling blue, solar heated pool with comfortable pool loungers & large umbrellas.  (Sadly, the pool & garden are affected by water shortages). 

Pinelands is in a perfect location for exploring the city - with easy access to the N2 highway and other major routes.

A wonderfully warm welcome greets you at this lovely well equipped, spacious and stylish cottage which is conveniently located to reach most of Cape Town's main attractions within a 15-20 min drive. The garden and pool is an inviting and relaxing place to cool off. The location is quiet and feels safe day and night. The hosts Janet & Andrew are very knowledgeable and are happy to help you plan your days out. A good supermarket, nice cafes and an excellent restaurant are a short walk away and it is close to the motorway system enabling you to get to most tourist destinations and the airport quickly and easily. I would thoroughly recommend staying here and will definitely be returning again.

An superb self catering B&B in the heart of Pinelands. Janet and Andrew (the owners) and Gift (their assistant) went out of their way to ensure that my husband, my parents and I felt right at home from the moment we arrived. We stayed in the Courtyard Cottage (my parents stayed in the Garden Cottage) and Janet had thought about everything right down to clothes pegs for our washing, an umbrella and even provided 2 bottles of wine. The large bed and pillows were super comfy and we even had a fan for the hot evenings. The bathroom was compact with excellent finishes. There was secure off street parking for our two vehicles, place to have a braai (barbeque) and a swimming pool. We had a magical time and would definitely recommend it to anyone looking for accommodation in Pinelands. We'll definitely be back!

We stayed with Janet and Andrew for about 30 days Feb/Mar 2018 for the Cape Town Cycle Tour. We are currently scheduled for the same stay in Feb/Mar 2019. The location is great, quiet neighborhood. Stores and good restaurants in easy walking distance. Rooms are clean and nicely appointed. Good TV reception. Janet and Andrew were always helpful in providing travel tips and directions. Would recommend to friends without reservation.

If on a business trip or on holiday I recommend Janet's place. Good uncapped wifi, clean spacious kitchen/living room and bedroom, and a swimming pool outside. Walk around the tranquil leafy green suburb of Pinelands, see squirrels run up and down the trees. Shops and restaurants nearby at Central Square and Howard Center. In the evenings the sports park nearby is full of dogs running around and playing, this will instantly uplift your mood.

Take the N2 Highway to Cape Town from the Airport and exit at junction 10b Pinelands. Continue up Forest Drive and cross the traffic light at the BP petrol garage.  Take the next left into Uitvlugt Road.  The entrance is in the cul-de-sac at the side of the house.

(GPS devices sometimes cannot find no 10 or no 11 Uitvlugt Road - try putting in number 1 or 2 instead and follow these directions once you find the road.)
